Chilling on the Beach

Day 19

Our last full day in Florida, so we decided to enjoy the sea, sun, & sand.  We started the day driving to nearby Indian Pass inlet to check out the dolphins, which were pretty much absent as we saw only a few from a distance, but our walk along the shore was a very enjoyable one nevertheless.  This area is very uninhabited and very peaceful.

Leaving Indian Pass we picked up two pounds of raw shrimp which we boiled at home and dipped in cocktail sauce.  Yummy!

We spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach in front of our rental watching the shore birds and our neighbor who was continually catching dogfish.  Don't know if it was the same one every time, but he was having pretty good luck.

Tonight we drove to Apalachicola and returned to the Owl Cafe for our last dinner.  Joni had chicken marsala, Wendy had grouper, Carl had mahi-mahi, and I had soft shell crabs.  Fantastic.
